An Easy Way To Create Unique Contents By Combining Some Private Label Articles
by admin on Aug.08, 2010, under Tech
Using private label articles you can provide content for your websites easily. Altering such articles and submitting them to article directories along with your resource box is also a great way to generate traffic to your websites. However, you should first make your PLR articles really unique. Publishing unaltered PLR articles on your website may affect your search engine ranking. In addition many article directories do not allow you to submit duplicate content.
There are various ways to create unique content from PLR articles. One of the most easiest way is to take several articles and blend them into one. By implementing this method several times you will be able to create unique articles very fast. Another advantage is it will be easier for you to create longer articles. Note that although most article directories accept 400-words articles, there are some that require you to submit articles containing more than 500 words.
You may have noticed that private label articles relevant to one niche are often presented in a package. For example, you might find PLR packages that consist of, for instance, 10 articles on tennis, 10 on cell phones, 10 on home theatre and 10 on travel. Such packages will enable you to find and combine related articles easily.
For example, there is a PLR article package that consists of 25 articles about viral marketing. Some of the titles are “Using File Sharing in Viral Marketing”, “Using Forums in Viral Marketing”, “Using Videos in Viral Marketing” and “Your E-Book is your Viral Salesman”. By paying attention to the titles above you can easily find out that each article covers a tool to perform viral marketing. Now what you need to do is to take some parts from each article and blend them into one.
As another example, there is also a PLR package containing articles about computer security. Instead of altering only one article, just combine some articles covering ZoneAlarm, CounterSpy and Spam Buster. This way you can create an article about PC security tools that will stand out from the crowd easily. If you want, you may expand the article. For instance you can add some more PC security tools that you know into the article such as Avast AntiVirus or Fake MP3 Detector.
Although you now have a new article which is quite unique, it is still advisable to make further alterations. Just change the opening paragraph, say something in a different way, add a sentence here, subtract one there, rewrite the ending, and so on. There are various possibilities that you can do. You may even use an article from a totally different niche. Be creative in your use of private label content, and you will definitely get your money’s worth.
It is true that writing content yourself is not only the least expensive method, but also allows you to inflect your personality into the content. This can be very useful in attracting a loyal reader. However if you do not have enough time to create your own content from scratch, reworking articles with private label rights can be an alternative.

Speed Up My Computer in 10 Easy Steps
by admin on Jul.31, 2010, under Tech
Do you ever get frustrated because your computer runs too slow? Does it sometimes freeze requiring a system reset, or does it sometimes crash, meaning you lose valuable data? Don’t worry – below are ten easy steps you can take to get your computer working at its peak performance.
Hardware – check that all your hardware is connect properly and that the fans are dust free. You might want to take off the CPU fan and remove any dust buildup (desktop PC’s only). CPU overheating is one of the main causes of a computer freezing or involuntarily shutting down. Do this every 3 – 6 months Clean Up Temporary Files – the easiest most thorough way to do this is to use the fantastic free software called CCleaner. Temporary files if not periodically removed and left to accumulate on your system can clog things up and slow your computer down. Do this every week Remove any spyware from your computer because spyware / malware can really slow down your PC too. Currently, the best free software is ‘Malwarebytes Anti-Malware’ . The free version doesn’t have sceduled scans or real-time protection but it was remove any spyware currently on your PC. ‘Spybot Search & Destroy’ is totally free software that will remove most spyware too. Two of the best paid anti-spyware software are ‘Stopzilla’ and ‘Webroot Spy Sweeper’. Run your anti-spyware every week Remove any viruses from your computer as these will slow it down, cause it to crash or even destroy the file system. The best free anti-virus is ‘Avast Anti-Virus’ or ‘AVG Anti-Virus’: Run your anti-virus software every week Check your hard drive for errors. In Windows XP, go to My Computer > right click on the C drive > select properties > click on the tools tab > click on the check now button under error checking. Reset Windows and a check will be done during boot up. Run this check every 3 months Remove any unwanted / un-used programmes from your computer. Go to your control panel > click on add or remove programs > select the programmes you want to remove from the list and click on remove. Run this check every 3 – 6 months, depending on how much new software you install (you may also want to remove non-essential items from your desktop too) Disable any unnecessary background processes from running when you’re not using them. Go to Start > click on the run command > type in msconfig > click on the startup tab > untick any programmes which aren’t required (the only process I have running is my anti-virus). By doing this, you should notice a significant improvement in the time it takes for your computer to boot up. Run this check every 3 – 6 months Clean your registry – the easiest most thorough way to do this is to use the fantastic free software called CCleaner at www.ccleaner.com . Do this every 3 months Defragment your hard drive – go to My Computer > right click on the C drive > select properties > click on the tools tab > click on defragment now > select the drive you want (if you have more than one hard drive partition) and then click on defragment. Do this every 3 months Keep at least 25% of your hard drive free – as your hard drive becomes fuller, it takes longer for applications to load because there is more information to sift through. The ways to keep your hard drive less than 75% full are: using an external hard drive to store non-essential files or; partitioning your hard drive and keeping one half for your operating system and applications and the other partition for files. A good way of partitioning your hard drive is to use the Norton Partition Magic software. Check your hard drive periodically to make sure it’s not above 75% full. You can do this by going to My Computer > right click on the C drive > select properties and look at the capacity pie chart.
N.B. you can search for all of the above mentioned software on Google or www.download.cnet.com.
So there you have a solution for a slow computer. Do all the above and I guarantee your computer will run much faster!

Top 10 Easy Ways to Protect Your PC
by admin on Jul.28, 2010, under Tech
There are many things to keep in check regarding the health and security of your PC. These factors can be overwhelming but its really not as hard as you may think. Consider these 10 easy ways to protect your PC and take the worry off of your mind.
1) Use Anti-Virus Software: This may seem like a no-brainer but the fact is that most people don’t really bother to check to see if they have an anti-virus program installed. Another important fact is that once you get one installed, you may not check to see if its working, scanning, or functioning ever again. Make it a point to check to see if your Anti-virus definitions are up-to-date and that you have a scheduled scan that works and is clean at least weekly.

2) Don’t download from shady.com If you really need a file or song or whatever you are searching the internet for, maybe try paying for it. There are millions of viruses all across the internet, including through tempting ‘free-movie-downloads’ or torrent websites. Think about the long term. If you have to fork out $10 to get your download, it will be alot less money than trying to rid your computer of the worm you just got from some underground blackhat website.

3) Update Your Operating System: Use windows update to find the latest patches and security fixes for your computer. There are new exploits found everyday and hackers take advantage of these to control your PC, steal your identity etc.
Start > Programs > Windows Update
4) Backup Your Computer: Though you may think you have protected your PC to the fullest, there is no such thing as flawless when it comes to the desktop and laptops we use. Make it a point to backup your important files on a weekly, if not daily basis. With the cost of USB drives going down and their capacity going up, they make it easy to store your data somewhere else other than your computer. There are other services out there on the internet, such as FTP, file storage sites, and email that enables you to have a 3rd option.
5) Update your Passwords: Hackers use things called Brute Force Crackers. These tools enable them to break into your accounts on the internet if you have a weak password. Try updating your passwords to something more sophisticated, using uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and special characters (when allowed). These will help prevent hackers from being able to Brute Force their way into your accounts.
This brings up another point about Phishing. Phishing is when you are sent an email that looks like its from your bank or paypal, asking you to update your credit card or change your password, when really it is a Phishing website that looks identical to the actual site. These sites are used to steal your identity and your account.
6) Learn to detect Phishing Emails. A rule of thumb is that if you get an email from a bank or paypal, do not use the link within the email to login to the site. Open a new browser window and manually type in the address and go from there. Some Phishing emails are nearly impossible to detect. So just make it a point to not click the links within these types.
Some more insight:
Legit companies know your name and will most likely have it in the email. If it just says ‘Dear Customer’ then that should be the first warning flag. They know your account number. Phishers do not know your information, they are trying to steal this from you. Most likely if you see your account number in the email, its probably legit. Make sure its the correct account # and not a fake. Check the email header. The email header should indicate it came from the claimed source (though this can be forged!). This means the extended From: field information (usually if you click ‘details’ in the email should be from info@yourbank.com or @paypal.com and not @shadymcshady.com Hackers can spoof hyperlinks to look real. Just because you hover over a link and it says http://paypal.com doesn’t actually mean it will go there. So this makes it tricky. The best course of action, like I said above, is to open a new browser window on your own and type in the url yourself.
7) Physical Protection. Depending on where you live this can be just as troublesome as keeping the viruses out of your system. If you are in college, make sure to buy a laptop lock that fits around your desk or some other hard-to-move object. Laptop’s are easy to steal and expensive, don’t leave it up to trust or responsibility of others. Buy a surge protector for your Desktop PC. Lightning and power surges are unforgiving to electronic equipment. Make sure to buy one that has some sort of joules rating and not just a plug extender. The joules rating isn’t very important because there is no set standard in the way companies measure how many joules the surge unit can protect up against. The rule of thumb here is quality. There are places you want to cut corners and save a buck, but not here. Buy a nice one.
8 ) Firewall. Just like an Anti-virus program, a firewall blocks unknown connections inbound and outbound. If you manage to get a virus, worm, or backdoor, the Firewall will still be able to serve up protection and make you aware that there is something shady going on with your computer. The easiest Firewall I ever used is ZoneAlarm and I still recommend it due to its user-friendliness and convenient interface.

9) Reboot Your PC. This is critical to the safety of your PC because it allows patches and security updates to be applied. Many people simply ignore the pesky ‘Restart Your PC Now’ warning after Microsoft pushes an update to your computer, but just take a few minutes out of your day to reboot your PC to make sure everything is up-to-speed. Furthermore, this helps with the performance of your PC because there are many programs that eventually slow your computer to a crawl. This can be due to many factors: low memory, memory leaks, fragmented hard-drives, over-worked processors, etc. So, reboot. Your computer will thank you later.
10) Secure Your Wireless Network. Many home users just do not take the time to setup their wireless router correctly. If your wireless network at home is unencrypted, anyone who is near your house, apartment or dorm can see the signal. Not only that, if they are smart enough, can read anything you send across the wireless to the internet or to other computers in your room, house, etc. Your PC, privacy, and other sensitive data is open and up-for-grabs. Even when using WEP, it is easily cracked by a hacker that knows what he/she is doing. The best standard is WPA or if able WPA2 is best. Do yourself a favor and read the manual that comes with your wireless router or get your internet provider to configure it for you (if it came with your internet). Its easier to do than you think!

by admin on Jul.12, 2010, under Tech
Adding Memory
Having an adequate amount of memory installed in your computer increases program performance. A good amount if your a Vista user or Windows 7 user is 3GB of memory. The important thing when looking to upgrade your memory is compatibility. Your computer can either use DDR, DDR2 or DDR3 memory and even in these categories there are different types. The best thing to do is go to your computers manufacturing site and look for your computers specifications. Upgrading memory can cost anywhere from $25 to $100+ all depending on the type of memory you need.
Running Virus Scans and Malware Scans
If your using a PC you should definitely have some sort of virus software like McAfee or Avast. These programs allow you to scan your computer for any type of Viruses, Spyware or Trojans that could be holding your computer back. A free software you can use to scan your computer for Malware is Malwarebytes and you can download it from their website http://www.malwarebytes.org/. Running these scans regularly is a great idea too.
Adding An Internal or External Hard Drive
If your running out of space on your hard drive adding extra storage space is something you will need. Buying a internal hard drive is pretty easy and costs under $100 at either newegg.com or tigerdirect.com. Another option that hasn’t always been around is adding an external hard drive. External hard drives only require either a USB port or eSATA port for it to work with your computer. They are just as fast as an internal one so the choice is yours.
